Whether it is in production or with the help of the incredible seamstress we work with, Gown Boutique of Charleston bridal stylist are experts when it comes to customizing wedding dresses! GBC Bride Kaitlyn knew everything she wanted her gown to have, but was having trouble finding it. It was then that she found Gown Boutique of Charleston. Knowing what could be done in alterations, Store Owner Janet pulled the dress Kaitlyn eventually said yes to, and it checked every box!
What were some of your “must haves” for your wedding dress?
I was one of those brides with a very particular vision. I had three “must haves” for my dream dress. I wanted a strapless dress with a sweetheart cut, bling at the top, and simple at the bottom.
Was your vision the same as the wedding dress you choose?
YES! Shopping for my wedding dress did not start out the most positive. I went to multiple stores and could not find anything close to what I was looking for. The final store I went to was Gown Boutique of Charleston. I shared my exact vision with Janet, and she was on it! The first wedding dress she pulled for me was the one I ended up getting. The dress originally came with straps but was able to be turned strapless and checked all of my boxes.
What did you love most about your gown?
My favorite part of my dress was the way it made me feel. I have always struggled with the fact that I look so young for my age. When I had my dress on, I felt beautiful, mature, sexy, and confident.

How did you know you had found your wedding dress?
As soon as I looked in the mirror, I knew it was exactly what I had always pictured myself wearing. I feel immediately in love with the way it made me feel.

Advice you would give to future brides about planning their wedding:
Make sure to stay organized, day of coordinators are lifesavers on your big day, and the week before is extremely stressful but just know that you have worked so hard, and you will have the day you are meant to have.

Advice you would give to future brides about wedding dress shopping:
My advice would be to go with your gut feeling. Don’t let the opinions of others influence your decision. At the end of the day, you are the one wearing the dress.
