Nadya Prashad & Gabriel Buenaventrua
May 31, 2008
Nadya & Gabriel’s wedding story began with a romantic proposal under a full moon on the beach in Tulum, Mexico. In planning their wedding, they felt it was important to incorporate elements of both their Caribbean and Spanish cultures. “We wanted our wedding to feel as international as we are but yet have a classic Charleston feel.” Their locations gave them the classic Charleston feel, with the rehearsal dinner at the Rice Mill and the ceremony & reception at the William Aiken House. Then they incorporated elements such as tropical plants and Spanish style food into their rehearsal dinner at the Rice Mill. They also made sure to have fun international music for dancing during their reception.
Nadya wanted a very classic and elegant wedding, and she wanted a gown to reflect that style. She chose a silk taffeta gown by Anne Barge with a fitted shape, sweetheart neckline, and pearl and crystal accents at the bustline. “I felt like the most beautiful girl in the world on my wedding day!”
“The Gown Boutique of Charleston is a beautiful store that is a pleasure to shop in since each gown is handpicked by Terri and Krista and they have exquisite taste. It is not hard to find something to love among the beautiful gowns they have selected! The difference is in the level of personalized service that Terri and Krista offer to their customers. They make each bride feel special!“
