Alison McMaster & Bryan Preacher
June 28, 2008

Sullivan’s Island has always been a special place for Alison.  As a child, she spent almost every summer playing on the beach with her family.  It was at that family beach house where Alison and Bryan met.  Then 2 ½ years later, Bryan proposed on the beach at Sullivan’s Island as he and Alison were walking their dog on a chilly November day.  “We were just down from my family’s beach house and close to where we had met.  We are so happy that we will be able to continue to love the beach and cherish this Island for many years to come.”

In planning the wedding they decided that they wanted to have an intimate affair, natural and outside, elegant but not fussy.  They chose Alison’s mother’s garden in Marblehead, Massachusetts for their ceremony and reception.  Alison also wanted a classic gown that she could be comfortable in.  It was also very important for her to feel like herself in the gown.  “The experience of gown shopping is far more exciting that I thought it would be. With each gown you try on, you can see a different aspect of your character showing through. After many, many gowns I ultimately chose one of the first gowns I tried on.  As a girl who lives in her flip-flops and jeans and truly never thought she would wear a “wedding gown” at her own wedding, I felt amazing! The gown just spoke to me and the entire time I was wearing it I felt simply wonderful. It’s like taking a step out of your life and into a fairytale for a few short hours.”
